This tutorial is for WordPress beginners!
Hi there! Here, in this post, I will be explaining about WordPress and my experiences while I was beginner.
You might be wondering what WordPress is? Well starting from the scrap, wordpress is an open source CMS (Content Management System) and specially known as blogging platform, which for basic beginning, you don’t need to know any html or other coding knowledge. We can install wordpress in our own purchased hosting. WordPress CMS is free and lots of tutorial and supports can be found over the internet for it. Talking about myself, I am an WordPress expert and develop websites and blogs on the wordpress platform. Initially, wordpress was developed as an blogging platform and till now, wordpress has no other competitor around its rank. It is much easier to learn and use in real time than any other known CMS.
As far as wordpress.com is concerned, it is also an free blogging platform, which provides, blogging environment with a free sub-domain as yourblog.wordpress.com or same as yourblog.blogspot.com but these two can not be installed in personal hosting so it is very hard to achieve a professional experience. But for very beginners, my suggestion is to have your hands clear on the free blogging platform as wordpress.com and blogspot.com or blogger.com. However, blogspot.com is an another blogging platform provided by blogger, a free product of Google and one of the top widely used free blogging environment.
WordPress Blogging CMS can be downloaded from its official website wordpress.org and other tools as well as plugins and templates.
Installing wordpress through cPanel
Beside the tutorial link I have provided below, installing the wordpress cms on your server is far easy when installing through cPanel. For this, you need to have an option in your cPanel named Fantastico. Click on it, you will be redirected to a page which contains large number of CMS Scripts among which you can easily find wordpress inside the same page of fantastico. Just click it, and fill the required fields as your sites username and passoword you are going to have and then voila, your wordpress is ready to go. Just then visit the URL of your site and click on the login option or directly go to http://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php and login. You are ready to blog now with a new website. However, if you don’t have any link or tab named fantastico in your cPanel, you will need to do it according to the tutorial link I have provided to download below.
Plugins are collection of php codes developed in a pattern to work with the whole wordpress cms and make the cms rich and full featured. There are thousands of plugins available in the official wordpress.org website to do various kinds of works. We can also find premium plugins and also support to make our wordpress site more flexible and according to our desire unless we become an expert to do it ourself.
Templates are the visual interface designed dynamically which are used to change the visual experience. By using different templates, we can change the graphics, layout, features and other lots of options of our wordpress site by changing template. We can found thousands of free wordpress templates on the official wordpress site and also from other sites. As well as we can find large amount of premium wordpress templates with nice support too to get a good and professional look.
My Experience
Talking about my experience in wordpress, I was first just puzzled seeing wordpress cms on websites and blog on private hosting. I wondered how it was? If you are at the same stage, don’t worry, you have lots of cool and easy stuffs available on the internet to get started with wordpress. Just google it about.
I first installed wordpres cms to my server through cPanel and was very easy for getting started. So I recommend you also to use Fantastico to install wordpress. After installation, you are not much far to be expert of wordpress. So now, have a try by yourself!
